News from Mary Kroetsch

I am pleased to announce that I have been selected to show my work at the Speak Easy Spring Art Fair.
SpeakEasy is a gathering of Toronto’s creative community. It’s an opportunity to network, share ideas, and keep in touch with the pulse of Toronto’s creative professionals. Celebrating its 16th year, the Art Fair is a new week-long exhibition featuring original works from 37 carefully juried, independent contemporary artists. Coming from a variety of creative backgrounds artists will converge at Toronto’s renowned Gladstone Hotel and offer a glimpse into Canada’s future Art Stars. From seasoned collectors to first time art buyers, gallerists to designers, visitors will find this art fair a unique opportunity to meet and purchase work directly from local artists.

Show Date: June 5th-12th, 2012
Gallery Hours: 12-5pm daily
Opening Reception: Thursday, June 7th, 7-10pm
Location: The Gladstone Hotel, 1214 Queen Street West – Second Floor Lobby + Studio Rooms
Free Admission

If you can’t join me at the Opening Reception, then note that I will be at the Gladstone on June 5, 6, 8, 9 and 12.

Meet the Commodore
This work will be part of the Art Gallery of Niagara Falls’ War of 1812 exhibition.

For my submission to this juried show I was challenged to find a portrait to work from, that for the first time for me, was not depicted in a photographic format. So the Commodore is the result of recreating a contemporary likeness from a late 1700′s etching of Commodore John Rodgers. The exhibition will be on at the gallery for the whole summer so if you get a chance to visit the Falls, be sure and check it out.

Show Date: June 9th to August 26th, 2012
Gallery Hours: Monday to Saturday – 12-4pm
Opening Reception: Sunday, June 10th, 2-4pm
Location: Niagara Falls Art Gallery, 8058 Oakwood Drive – Niagara Falls ON – 905-356-1514 – http://www.niagarafallsartgallery.ca
Admission: $5.00

Until Next Time – Cheers
Mary Kroetsch
