Karen Plumb – Fine Artist

Karen Plumb developed her artistic ability during her studies in art class in school and also independently. Karen’s education is a Bachelor of Arts Degree, Mathematics, Queen’s University; Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resources Management, Humber College, Bachelor of Education, Brock University; and Ontario Teacher’s Certificate. Karen is predominantly self taught in art, however her formal studies of art continued after high school for some post secondary art theory and studio instruction. Karen is now emerging as an Abstract and Non-Objective visual artist.

Karen Plumb Aprez-vous smallKaren believes in peace and unity throughout the world and she feels that this can be achieved through accepting the diversity of peoples’ attitudes, cultures, and beliefs. This includes everything from the community around us to the global stage of world wide change.

Karen works well with acrylics. Karen’s most recent series is “Newborn”, a non-0bjective series of acrylic paintings which capture the elements and principals of design using colour, shape, form, texture, balance, emphasis, unity, and movement. She paints from within to create images that portray relative concepts in today’s world. She finds her logical background Karen Plumb Equilibrium smallin mathematics to be a good foundation from which to build in order to create her works of art. Karen feels a sense of teaching from her creations when the viewer sees something in it from which they gain meaning and understanding.
