As the world shut down in 2020, I too, was laid off from (my then) career as a flight attendant. It was during that time, I decided to pursue my passion for jewellery making & became a student of the Jewellers Academy, London, UK. My jeweller dream has evolved into a growing business selling in Canada, the United States, England, France & Africa. All of my creations are designed & made entirely by myself in my home studio in Mono. The dedication to my craft has increased the Sky Gem Designs journey to the extent that earlier this year, I was able to leave flying entirely & forge on smithing full-time.
Ignition of the silversmith creative fire to craft unique heirloom jewellery is fuelled by my fascination of incorporating ancient metalsmith techniques such as granulation, texturing, fusing silver & using Sterling/Fine Silver & Silver Clay combined with more unusual gemstones such as Skystone Plume Agate, Seraphinite, Petrified Opalized Wood, Scottish Highlands Marble, Golden Hills Turquoise & Aurora Opal. Just as everyone’s journey is different, so too is each stone a one of a kind & as is each piece of Sky Gem Designs jewellery.
