As an artist I take my inspiration from both the nature of people and the natural world. My current series on geodes comes from my childhood fascination with rocks, in fact I still bring home little treasures I find on walks or trips to the beach. I unashamedly admit my great love for shiny things so creating glittery geodes with a glassy medium like resin is a great joy for me. I love the memories of never ending summer days, exploring for imaginary jewels then setting out our little shiny pebbles, shells and pieces of quartz that we found. The way they caught the light and created an imaginary world, we were pirates and fairy queens. I want to share that nostalgia with all of us who still have a little kid inside that is mesmerized by these magical gifts of nature.
