Congratulations to Lorraine Roy, who won the Textile Award at Carnegie Craft 2015. Carnegie Craft is the Biennial Juried Craft Exhibition open to all Ontario craftspeople, and organized by Carnegie Gallery in Dundas, ON. Her quilt, entitled Ubuntu – Minerals, 47×47″, is part of a series inspired by scientific research on tree root communication. She received an OAC Franco-Ontarian Arts Grant in 2014 in order to pursue this research and to create a new body of work, leading to a solo exhibition within the next few years.
