Growing up Huan was always interested in drawing, painting, calligraphy and poetry. Born in China, she moved with her parents to Montreal where she studied and worked as an engineer.
While working she continued to pursue her passion in art by taking private lessons and courses in university. She has been painting for over 10 years and has developed a special interest in figure and landscape. She began showing her works in 2005 and was accepted to multiple juried exhibitions. Her works were shown at the Viva Gallery in old Montreal and sold to private collectors in Quebec, Ontario and China.
In 2006, she made a career change to become a full time artist and art instructor. She continues to improve her techniques by taking lessons and painting together with like minded artists. She is a member of the Mississauga Art Society and Figurative Expressions. She has exhibited at Art in the Park in Visual Arts Mississauga and other juried shows.
Huan is currently exploring the combination of abstraction and realism using concepts in Chinese art. She tries to engage a dialog between freedom, spontaneity, the unexpected and accidental, with reason and logic, as such let her subconscious lead the expression.
