Ian Stewart is a designer, educator, maker of furniture and a turner of wood objects based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Stewart has over 40 years of design experience in various fields, from graphic design to exhibit and trade show work, to furniture design and woodturning.
He is a design educator and has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in design in Canada and the United States. Stewart also teaches drawing at the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship in Rockport, Maine.
He also designs and makes custom furniture working directly with clients from concepts through to fabrication.
The photographs shown on Stewart’s website are of multi-axis hollow vessels. Each vessel is hand-made on a wood lathe, using an offset centre technique.
